SPORTS DAY

Sports day was a huge success! Well done to all our competitors. It seemed that everyone had a good time, and participated fairly and sensibly. Well done to the Yellow Team who won the final competition. Thank you to all the mums, dads, brothers and sisters, and other relatives who came out and helped and watched on the day. I'm sure you would agree the kids had a fantastic time! Here are some snippets from the exciting event.












STOP - THINK - DO



The stop-think-do approach causes students to look at problems from all areas, not just their own views. 





STOP- say what the problem is, talk about what people are feeling, why is there a problem? 

THINK - think of solutions to the problem, consider consequences that could come from them, consider other people's feelings when choosing solutions 

DO - try out the solution, and if it doesn't work go back to the THINK stage and try another.







The children are encouraged to act like Olivia Organisation and Charlie Confidence.




The 5 Point Scale is used to help students control their emotions:



And we want to stay out of our 'Red Room' whenever possible, as this room is the room when we are angry and let our emotions take over. When our emotions do take over, we need to change how we think about it and what we do.





We talked about how sometimes things can seem very upsetting, but really are not as bad as we make them out to be. The class made our own HOWBADZZAT scale to remind us in the classroom.
