Welcome to Term 4
Topics in the classroom with Renee for TERM 4:
ENGLISH: Show and Tell, Spelling, and Reading will always be happening. Literacy Rotations this term which involves Guided Reading with Renee, Storybird on the computer, Book Making, and Comprehension/Grammar/Punctuation activities.MATHS : Volume, Capacity, Mass, Multiplication and Division.
RELIGION: Made In The Image Of God: Being Moral, The Birth of Jesus/Christmas.
HEALTH: Friendships, various social skills, Fitness.
SOSE : History focus that looks at technology and the history of our community. Also a study on Toys.
DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY: Various Christmas craft, designing things with our two buddy classes, and 'making' time during Creative Activity Time on Friday afternoons.
PE, SCIENCE, ITALIAN, ART, MUSIC - Specialist Teachers
At home:
1. Aim to practice reading everyday
2. Practice spelling and sight words with activities
3. Maths Sheet4. Home Challenge (every 2 weeks a new challenge is put in their diaries or home learning books - due the following Friday)
WEEK 7/8/9 HOME CHALLENGE:
Home Challenge—Due Friday Week 9
Choose TWO to complete during the 3 weeks:
· Write a letter to Santa
· Draw a nativity scene using geometric shapes
· Make up a birth notice for Jesus
· Design a new suit for the Christmas elves
· Interview someone asking how they spend their Christmas
· Use a famous Christmas carol and write words of your own
· Bring in some Christmas cooking to share (check with Renee first)
· Make a Christmas pageant float or make a Christmas ornament
